Day 18. Few short long tales.

Still exploring the one sentence, two sentence fiction/musings, here are some more. Short and crisp, somewhat bitter somewhat sweet they might delight or leave you thinking. Please share how you feel. It is valuable indeed. Does this also rhyme … :)

Sadness and madness in their extreme are vary of each other. Which one defines you?
To me, the both.

There are days I feel like singing but the tunes
are too melodious to be accepted.
Do I bother?

He writes to her more often these days.
Reassuring his presence to himself.

Dismissing all around including herself,
she immerses within to build herself yet again,
step by step, brick by brick.
Will she be stronger now?

She was the most desirable but
brought no pleasure to who possessed her.

Day 17. Infidelity

Exploring the genre of two sentence story on the seventeenth day of the Blog Marathon, was actually a fretting experience as while telling a story, it is so difficult to be brief. I have attempted five sentence stories as the shortest storytelling exercise. So as it is my first time, need your love and feedback on this.

The two phones were busy and in a moment she knew the

calls were interconnected. She smiled and dialed her own

private number.

Day 16. Dear, 16 Year Old Me

Dear, 16 Year Old Me,

Heartiest Congratulations on entering the most beautiful of all the teens. Sweet sixteen as everyone calls it; it has just knocked at your door. While every moment of life has its own charm and is full of happiness if you really want it to be, this newly acquired tiara will make you feel like a princess in true spirits. Be a dreamer and live up to your dreams, be the fearless warrior to fight your fortune and remember the golden rules of life which I have learnt in these thirty seven years of amazing journey.

1.  Every phase of life is beautiful and comes with its own enamor, which never gets back to you again. So live life to the fullest. There is an amazing vibrance which comes in this phase. Feel it and enjoy bathing in the glory of its splendidness.

2. You are a dreamer. Dream big, don’t hesitate. Dream, desire, ask. For these are the ways you can make the universe listen to your wishes. Initiate a wish and act in the direction of your dream, so that universe can grant you and open the doors of synchronicity flying open to you.

3.  Be happy and count on your blessings. Show your gratitude for all you have. When you thank the universe for all you have, you are granted more and more of it. So the key to have your urn always full with his blessings is, be grateful and happy for all you have.

4. I know you have many passions in life. You may feel that you are not getting enough time and space to pursue all of them but believe me, an entire life is there in front of you and learning is not restricted to any age. You must keep learning all your life and never give up on any passion of yours.

5.You are the creator of your own life. You can write the story of your life as you want it to be. Experience that greatness within and the amazing creative energy that God, the supreme creator has gifted to us. All you need is the understanding of how to channelize that energy in the right direction. Have role models and read about their life. Let their life be your guiding light.

6. Keep the inner compass of life intact and choose them well. The people who are close to you, which can be family or friends. The friends you make now will be your companion for life so they have to compliment and support you well. But life is not only about gaining from others. You have to be for the people who form part of your inner compass. Life long relationships need nurturing, sincerity and lots of selfless love. If you will give, then only you will receive the unconditional love.

7. Attitude for life is what defines us. Have a positive attitude. It will pull you out of every challenging situation in life. There will be trying situations which will remain same for everyone. What will make it different is how to take on them. You will come out victorious only if you have a positive attitude.

8. Do not suppress your emotions. Express without any inhibition. Live, love and laugh. Be in the moment as you want to be. For once it passes; the clock can never be reversed. Life looks beautiful and all rosy in your age, enjoy the splendor.

Do not be afraid of making mistakes. You learn while making mistakes, so just live life and live it to the fullest so that you have no regrets later.

Lovingly Yours
Not so old friend

Day 15. I Too Have a Song Deep Within

Up there on the western hills
Where the snow still sits clean
There are birds who don’t fly
But there are flowers evergreen

Wind blows from the hills yellowed
And brings down the memories pristine
Of the times when even the bars echoed
And I too had a song deep within

It seems I have forgotten the rhythm
Of the songs so sweet
And now there are symphonies unknown
And the songs of freedom offbeat

Each moment of the day when I feel my destiny
I dream of you to pull me through
But you decide to leave me with my feet clipped
And climb to the lips of the nightingale so blue

I look down and then around
O my caged self, the war must now begin
For there is a whole new world here right now
And you too have a song deep within
Do not think of yet another breeze to take you away
For it might also hang on another sill
Hear it from the hill so far
But trust the sounds within
Lift up your arms and feel the rage
Which has the power to break each cage
Fly high before the snow is still sitting clean
And bath in the glory of the yellow sheen

Day 14. The Worst Hit Network Tsunami Ever

Yes friends the feelings are the same. I am still struggling with zero net connectivity and its day 2 so you can well understand my plight. The net issues creeped into my laptop today and typing a blog post on mobile looks such a herculean task. But 'ek baar jo maine commitment kar di to phir main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunti'. So at least 'ek Hi to banata hai'. After all its the Blog Marathon month.

Internet connection has become such a life line these days that when it suddenly retires likes this, unannounced, your condition is like a Tsunami hit area. Life seems to be thrown completely out of gear. I have not been able to work since yesterday, cutting excuses with all my clients. But no work didn't mean all play for me as i was continuously after my service provider hoping for a system resume every minute which didn't allow me to get absorbed in anything else with a free mind. Although the days have been restless but I managed to catch up on a new book. The literary marvel by the Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore, 'The Fugitive'. I will attempt writing a review of the book later in this month. Haven't finished it completely and don't want to also in a jiffy. I want  to sip from it slowly and savour every bit of it. I will keep quoting from the book in between. But till then let me quote one of my most favourite lines from the book.

We came hither together, friend, and now at the cross-roads I stop to bid you farewell.

Your path is wide and straight before you, but my call comes up by ways from the unknown.

I shall follow wind and cloud; I shall follow the stars to where day breaks behind the hills; I shall follow lovers who, as they walk, twine their days into a wreath on a single thread of song, "I Love."

Good night friends. Sleep well and pray this life called net life touches me again.

Day13. The Little People.

And then there are days like today when you feel how heavy your feet become with a strolling net connection, piled up work and no domestic help, all conspiring against you and saying ‘Hello, now show me.’ Well, haven’t been able to prove my super woman traits yet but I am struggling. While the official work took the priority, I stole some time to show up for my today’s post and also organize the look of the page for easier navigation. Have started a new story but couldn’t complete it today. Hoping a closure on this tomorrow. Till then, happy reading.

The tinkling of the tiny golden bells woven around the black collar of Shehanshah made a lilting sound, waking up Salim. His heart bounced with the latest purchase from the Id fair two days back. The black collar of Shehanshah, was on Salim’s mind and he had been saving for it since long. The day broke earlier than usual for Salim today. He rushed out of the only room under the thatched roof, skirting past the open kitchen which was guarded by the half wall to reach out to his best companion, his Shehanshah. Ammi, Rabia was still busy cooking the meal which would suffice her and Salim till afternoon. Her mind reeling over the money to be repaid she borrowed four months back to repair the roof. Completely engrossed she rolled the last of the six thick chapattis of bajra with a gestating glance outside beyond the kachha dominion. Salim was caressing Shehanshah’s neck feeding him the dry grass. Rains have been delayed this year banishing life around in all forms, in every home and every corner of the village. The farms have dried up turning the landlords and workers jobless. Only the haves, the people from the ‘Badi Havelis’ would survive a bit longer. Rabia has decided to walk up to the havelis in search of job. Even a petty job would fetch meals for her and little Salim. Life revolved around the basic necessity, gathering food for two. Beyond that the needs ceased to exist. But now, the penury was appalling with the dues of 400 rupees mounting up on her every day which if she fails to pay by in another two days, they will take away Shehanshah.

Soon the sun will be shining mercilessly on its acme and the hot winds will desert the streets of the village. The lone tree near Rabia’s hut was the only respite for Shehanshah, the onlooker of this life beyond. He moved around his anchor relentlessly and the bells echoed. Salim fondled Shehanshah on his neck and

Day 12. Wordless Wednesday - 09

Inviting your titles and captions on my Wordless Wednesday moment.

Well I didn't receive any captions other than Tanushree "Hail O Ganesha" for the last one but there were interesting comments. The visitors were intrigued and even scared with the magnanimity of the picture. The idol was of our most loved deity Ganesha which stands fiercely in the foothills of the Bhagsu Waterfall in Mc Leodganj, Himanchal Pradesh.
